Well crap and here we thought having a solid costing solid Sith piece was a good idea.

Why would i ever play him? His potential is only going to be met half the time.
Satele is 37 points.... Way better.
Atton jaq is 36 points.... Way better
Asajj Ventress nightsister is 35 points and is better

But most importantly what is the Sith build with him that makes him playable?
I mean... How many sets are there going to be without a power 9.5 piece that actually opens up a faction a bit?
Kelborn did it in the past four mandos.
Bastila did it for OR

Where is Sith's power piece that puts the faction in tier 1 territory? Where does he fit?

This is a power 8 piece that is solid (like you said) but it is not a good idea to just add more mediocrity to Sith.

I know people are trying to avoid massive npe's and be safe but c'mon we need power in sith. I would love to run 2 sith lords, some grunts, and tiny tech.

I am just sayin OR needs help and we get va Satele that should (right now) never see play over current Satele.
And Sith need help and we get a piece that doesn't help.

He can 60 from 12...what more do you want?!

I see 50 on his own.
But everyone and their mother (sometimes literally) can do 60 on the move.

60 man everyone...runs....bandon...in..sith....

..... No they don't.
And even so it would be 70 damage. Which, again, at 37 points if you don't do you are tier 3. Without other techy stuff. On top of that who is he going to play with that is better then what is already there? Her doesn't do enough to replace the techy stuff of kaan, atton, new sidious, etc.

Also, Mother Talzin's cost is 31, not 28. I posted the incorrect cost originally. Sorry for any confusion.

Electric Grid [Usable once per turn on his turn: Enemies within 4 squares and in a square bordered by a wall, closed door, or adjacent to low objects take 10 damage; save 11]

Question, what if a character is in a single square of low objects, but not adjacent to a wall or a closed door or any other low objects - are they effected?

Yes, they would be affected by Electric Grid, since they count as being adjacent to the square they are in.

How does Weapons Expert [Once per turn on her turn, this character can use a special ability that replaces attacks without replacing attacks] interact with Overload and/or Tarpals CE? The fact that you are still using the ability (even if it doesn't replace your attacks) makes me think that only one instance of any of those three would be in effect, so you would never get to use three abilities in a turn.

You can use a special ability which replaces attacks three times in a turn if you have Weapons Expert and either Overload or Tarpals' commander effect.

I think this bossk is my favorite piece in the set. That's a cool combo. Who designed him?

And thanks Tim B

Talzin is one of my favorites. So many good options for that cannon CE. Savage Opress with base 30 and twin sounds fun, and you could also use repulse off of it. Bossk doing three stun mortars a turn with Hutt Cartel or Tarpals also sounds fun, but a lot of points.

The lead designer for Bossk, Ultimate Predator was DarkDracul.

Bossk is a cool design but he is much harder to play then Boba.
Bossk maxes out at 100 damage with Talon and Boba is at 90 damage. However, Boba has GMA (better than Backlash) and does not rely on Opportunist for that damage or adjacency).
He also has ranged defense in Bait and Switch and Evade which is better than Regen 20.
He also has flight to get away from people safely as well.
Bossk has a better end of round ability in stun mortar (better than wrist cable).
The largest difference being Boba has Accurate Shot.

I just don't see how Bossk can find the table unless it is for fun.
I'll be playing him at some point just so I can play Trandoshans. Give Bossk Ambush to mix with his Backlash.

Since Weapons Expert is a zero-time ability, Bossk has the option of using Stun Mortar at the start of his turn or between movement, not just at the end. So he could activate an enemy with Stun Mortar while non-adjacent, and then base them and Backlash/Opportunist/Rend+20 them for 100dmg (with a damage boost).

I do think that Bossk will see some play at a competitive level, most likely with Talon. I agree that Boba is a more powerful and easier option overall though.

I love stuff like this! makes me want to play it just to pull that off. I still don't see the competitive appeal at 52 points when Boba is 50 but time will tell. Stun Mortar might just be powerful enough.

It's up to 140dmg in Seps with Twin/Rend.
