For the record, I want harsher moderating, just not unchecked moderating. More community notification and help for mods is all I am asking for.

A post is still read as insulting, condescending, etc based on word choice, and thus, is an insult.

You make an inaccurate, inflammatory statement ('tone is an audio term'), disregarding that it is also commonly used in other ways ( a particular style or manner, as of writing or speech; mood:), implying that I don't understand English. That is insulting. Tone of writing is even more important because there is no audio or visual component. I can't tell if you're joking because I have no facial or auditory reference. It becomes a matter of chance whether I take your statement as a humorous one or as an insult.
