i got these templetes from 'rebelscum' website.
plus, which is the best photoshop to crop/trim/enhance pictures in your oppinion?

Unfortunately, PowerPoint is part of Microsoft Office. I got it from work; I don't have Microsoft Paint so I'm not the person to ask about that. I imagine that Rebelscum is a little out of date; don't they basically cover new stuff?

Hmmmm .... critique ..... BigGrin BigGrin

Bartender - 1 point Seems reasonable when you mention your reason.

Stim Dealer .... Sure. "I wanna go home aand rethink my life ....."

Rancor - I noticed the V-Setters made some rapport -2 last time; I'd always gone Rapport -1 but if they want to change that rule ....... RollEyes

Explosive Traps - an idea I'd imported from my Kota's Militia set ... did seem vague; fixed to "Enemy characters get -4 Defense while they are within 6 squares of this character. Enemy characters receive +10 Damage when adjacent to this character each turn."

Dark Hellions - You didn't like the Dark Hellion Honcho & Moll on page 2?

Tatooine Hunter - I must have made him before "Desert Savvy." My bad .... maybe he's a dumb hunter ....

Pod Car - Against unarmed ships how much firepower would they need? I always pictured them as more cops than fighters.

Master of Assassins - A year later, who remembers where I saw the pic? I may have changed a sword into a lightsaber ...

Troubleshooter - I think I created her to remove those bothersome Diplomat's blocking doorways; can't remember.

Falleen Combat Instructor - Got the idea from the Plaguis book!

Reprogrammer - It does seem rather harsh; but Save 6 seems too easy. A tech could shut down a droid with a quick

restraining bolt in a sec. Maybe Save 11?

Kel Merc; It's a Big Gun! Seriously, Mercs can't move if they can shoot; HW says you can't move and shoot in the same move. It doesn't seem to be incompatible; why would you Want to move if you can shoot that thing? +9 Attack for 20 damage seems like a decent shot.

N1 - See Pod Car; never considered the Naboo an "Offensive" sepecies.

Arcona - Use the Force and Force Whirlwind are Not cheap FP's ....

To all the thumbs up, thanks!

On a side note, my grades are done and I may bring up my next batch sometime this weekend; not tomorrow afternoon thou; My tournament is saturday and I hope the Vong don't show up in Everybody else's squad ......

Got some pieces (I hope) coming!

Peace

Alright...another info dump...just like always, no pressure to respond quickly or really at all;

(From page 7)

I like the Cantina bartender a lot, I would suggest upping his point cost by 1 so that you can't just toss out 3 Mouse Droids for him when making a squad (Giving out Recon is prety strong).

Hutt Cartek Stim Dealer- May I suggest for the flavor text: "Wanna buy some death sticks?" Tongue

Fanatic is a cool ability.

I LOVE the Mando Tech Specialist, awesome idea. (Even if I did hate that Revan novel)

Dathomir Rancor is a great idea...Rapport might be better if it was -3, so that this guy would be more usable with the Nightsisters.

I like your take on Slugthrower. It shouldn't be a major, major change, so a situational bonus is good.

The Explosive Traps SA is awesome, but what exactly does "contact" mean? I'm guessing moving adjacent.

Swoop Bike Mechanic is cool, I really wish the Dark Hellions were more usable. (But imagine the Hell's Angels going up against Darth Maul! Scared )

No Tatooine Desert Savvy on the Tatooine Desert Hunter?

I like Force Instruction.

That Khil Sith Lord looks scary!

I like your take on Appo, very fitting!

Lando, BA looks good, love for the Bespin Guards is always welcome!

I think the Pod Car needs a higher Attack, otherwise it looks good.

That Sith Master of Assassins is sweet! Where'd you find the pic?
I like the Duro Jedi and thre Blood Carver Chieftan a lot!
The Bothan Troubleshooter is an interesting piece.
The Falleen Combat Instructor is nice.
I think Droid Reprogammer needs to have a save of some sort, probably save 6.
JOOC, why does the Kel Dor Merc have Heavy Weapon?
Komari Vosa is awesome! ThumbsUp
That N1 starfighter needs a higher Attack as well.
Arcona Jedi Master is a bit overcosted but otherwise it looks good!

Actually, I think "I wanna go home, rethink my life" is better.

Not every inhabitant of the Desert Sea is "savvy", look at Luke. BigGrin
I think I did miss them, nice work! I get a lot of mileage out of that swoop bike for the RPG, and it seems lke it could be fun for the minis game.

Pod Car- True, but they'll be missing everyone aside from fodder without an attack boost (Which can be hard to get unless you've got Mas or Wryylok since the pods move so fast).

Blademaster-Touche! Time certainly does make you forget things like that, I've spent hours scratchning my head over old customs.

Reprogammer- Save 11 sounds fair! Smile

You do make a good point on the Merc. Still there could be a sitch where I need to move him 2 squares to get a shot. +9 is nice, but there's an S&V piece around the same points with +12! Woot

Arcona- True, but they don't give as much bang for the proverbial buck as some others.

To all the thumbs up thanks, you're welcome! ThumpUp

The Vong would be a nightmare for your squad...You might be able to slip a few YVHs into your squad when no one is looking. Tongue

.... trying Not to think abou facing Vong Tomorrow ......

Anyway .....

... grades are done and I've finally got around to getting this group out. No theme and to tell you the truth, most of these are Fringe again; whats more the non-Fringe only "came" to me in the last 7-10 days. But, hey, what it is is what it is. Some of these are quite interesting IMHO.

Advozse Explorer Scout Honestly, he's a grunt, but I couldn't resist using the pic; he's an Advozse. Not too many in my cards, but even less than anywhere else. BigGrin

Chak I've got the first of this pair here; sorta a Han/Chewy Light.

Dark Acolyte Tol Skorr My last group had a large Dark Acolyte group. Tol Skorr wasn't quite ready then so here's another of Dooku's Dark Jedi.

Dorsk 81 Here's my first of the quite interesting piece. Dorsk is an interesting character with an interesting demise, and I tried something new to depict his ending; a variation on the "Thought Bomb" and I'm curious if its too much, too difficult to achieve, too .... but hey, its an interesting idea.

Espo Walker 91 Another piece of my Espo group. It's somewhere between an AT-RT and an AT-ST.

Experienced Jedi Padawan I'm actually quite curious about my "Meditation" SA since I always thought the younger Jedi needed to meditate to "renew" the Force.

Galactic Marine Commander I saw this pic and said "Commander" even though the Republic certainly doesn't need much help.

Gen'Dai Killer This is Durge's species; I didn't overpower him, kept him simple.

Ghost Thief An idea I got from the new "Scoundrel" book.

Iktotchi Trooper Fodder, but hey, its an Iktotchi.

Imperial Commando This guy looks more like an Imp Commando than the Storm Commando .....

Itinerant Gray Jedi My take on a wandering Jedi.

Kee, Devaronian Smuggler Chak's partner .....

Kyrisa, Nightsister of Hoth I saw this pic; had to wiggle and maneuver a little to get a full body. Advanced Empathy is a new idea ...

Mandalorian Shock Trooper Is Boba the only Mando with Missles? Actually yes, but I've tried some new ideas to corral this, I hope. Concussion Blast sounds right, but does the Single Shot Launcher sound ok?

Nelvaanian Shadowport Swindler I found this pic, and my Shadowportn subfaction popped up about the same time.

Omwati Acquisitions Expert I don't know why, but this guys stupid smile amuses me and I liked the idea of an "Acquisitions Expert."

Ootoolan Trooper More fodder, but hey, he's Ootoolan, which is even more rare than an Iktotchi.

Raxus Prime Scavanger You think this is where the Rodian Brute guy came from??

Siniteen Bounty Hunter Finally found an acceptable pic of a Siniteen.

Spiderclan Protector Thought about giving this piece Melee Reach 2, but otherwise this is a fun pic ...

Togruta Spacer Negotiator I always liked the idea of a "Conflict Manager" as a mini.

Voss Smuggler ... another Voss piece. Well, I Like the Voss ....

Xamar, Seer of the First Watch Circle Another member of the Covenant, and definitely a weaker member.

Young Padawan Another padawan, but I wanted to try the "Conditional Double Attack" SA.

Yuuzhan Vong Seductress Is "Seductress" too strong an SA? I thought about limiting it to non-uniques,or making it Save 16 for Uniques.

Well, I thought some of these pieces came out quite good; I hope you all like them, but whether or not you do, comments, as always are more than welcome.

Peace

Thank you for looking in. I figure its only real worth is it Distrction SA; and with 14 Defense, If it survives to come close to anything, it won't survive for long.

Wow, I like this new batch! Some very fun pieces! My thoughts;

Chak and Kee were from the Legacy comics, right? I like your take on them, very character-accurate. They were never on the level of Han and Chewie, but seemed pretty capable nonetheless.

My usual whine about low Attack, there are a few who's Attack is too low for their point cost. Namely, Tol Skorr, Dorsk, the Itinerant Gray Jedi, Kyrisa

I love Dorsk and his SttF! Great job on him! ThumpUp He's a cool character that most people seem to forget about.

Meditation is cool, great way to let less powerful Force users get Force points back!

GMarine is nice, I like the love for the GMarines! That pic screams "Commander" at me too, but all the GMarines do (A legacy of playing Battlefront 2, I guess. BigGrin )

I like your Gen'Dai, could I suggest Regen 20 instead of 10? Trandoshans have Regen 10, they could regrow a lost limb in a couple of days to over a week, whereas Durge regrew his arm etc in a matter of minutes. Good timing on making him too, I'm working on a Gen'Dai Sith Lord for one of my RPG campaigns.

I like the ItGray Jedi, Loner seems like a perfect fit.

Kyrisa is very cool, and right in time for markedman's custom of her! I esp. like DG. (The first time I read it, I thought it said Dathomir Dentist! "I just need to fit the cap of this tooth and then seal it with a burst of Force lightning..." She might need a defensive ability of some sort, though.

The Mando Shock Trooper is a neat idea, and SSL wroks perfectly! ThumpUp

Always good to see more Nelvaani!

Spiderclan Protector is awesome!

I've got to agree with knapp on the Voss. Maybe just regular Evade?

Force Sight is neat.

Great group, maybe my favorite so far! ThumbsUp

Well, lets see ....

Low Attack, I usually do that when I'm trying tp emphasize something else. But Tol has 9 Attacj; has powercreep gotten to the point where 9 is low??? Grey Jedi possibly left the order before she was a fully trained duelist. She's more of a jack-of-all-trades; I would've given her Force Heal if I could've fit it in. As for Krysia, I've never played the game but from her Wook description she seemed to lose a lot of her personal fights and seemed a better animal handler than a fighter.

... and Dorsk, I wanted to emphasize STTF. If you have a higher Attack you'll be tempted to stick your head out before you've powered up for your curtain call .....BigGrin

Gen'Dai - I was trying for a less powerful member of the species; Was Durge typical 0r just a Gen'Dai on steroids??

Knapp just said they're overcosted; he didn't say anything else? You think regular evade would be better?

Low Attack- Powercreep has gotten to the point where +9 is low for a beatstick (even a low cost one, as long as it's over 25 points). With Dorsk, he costs so much that with an Attack that low all he'll be able to do is SttF. There's no reason to give him LS Powers, he won't ever use them. Fair enough on Kyrisa, I'd still up her to +9 though, just out of personal preference.

I wouldn't say Durge was "typical" overall, but his regenerative powers were standard for the species. To give an example:

In Saga, Trandoshans regrow "a lost limb" in 1d10 days.Gen'Dai, on the other hand, can regrow "lost body parts-including significant portions or its physical structure and individual limbs" in just 1d10 minutes.

(Yeah, I use Saga to determine things like this. Two reasons,

1) Saga and the skirmish game were made by the same company and are deeply related.
2) RPG supplements and modules are considered canon enough to be cited as sources on Wook.)

Yeah, I think regular Evade would be more in line for the cost. I think that's what knapp meant.

edit: On Toll; Attack boosts are also rare in the Seps for living followers (althoguh Jolee could get him up to 11).

What did you think of Seductress and Conditional Double Attack?

Should the Spiderclan girl have Melee Attack 2?

You liked Single Shot Launcher, did you think Concussive Blast sounded about right?

Gen'Dai - I've not read as much of the SAGA stuff as I should. If I upped his HP to 60 and maybe create a Regen 30 would that be more in line? I've though about RPG'ing it but there's not much of that around where I live here in SoCal (believe it or not.)

Dorsk - I actually thought of giving him Droid Defender because of what Dorsk 82 did but frankly STTF is soooo big wordwise. I even thought of Rapport with Kyp ... you think Kyp's Impulsive Savagery comes from Dorsk's sacrifice? I guess Dorsk Could go to 9 since he and Kyp came up together and Kyp's 10 .....

On Tol .... not sure how I want to approach him; maybe a Hatred at the Force SA that's like Impulsive Savagery except he goes ballistic around enemy force users .....

Conditional Double Attack is cool, I missed it my first time through! ThumpUp

Seductress...Cool ability, but that pic is just horrifying for the role. Scared

Melee Attack 2? Reach, you mean? That's really personal choice, it dosen't look like a super long spear.

Yep, CBlast was spot on! ThumpUp

Regen 30? Maybe, I was really looking at Regen 20. 30 could be fitting too, though. Sorry to hear about no RPGing nearby...You could always try Saga online! There are some PbP games running on Wizards and if I got enough interest I'd be up for GMing a Saga game on Gametable (an online application with a grid, dice roller, etc. You play in real time and talk over skype,. Great stuff!)

9 sounds reasonable for Dorsk!

Tol-Maybe Coniditional Savagery? Might want it to give a boost as well, though.

Freshly humbled from a 1-2 showing - FYI - Playing against a Leviathon with only melee characters is not fun Scared

Seductress scary?? Maybe not to a non-human ....

Ok .... no Melee Reach 2, and 9 for Dorsk .....

Conditional Savagery ... maybe against enemy force users??

I expected to get killed by the Leviathon; what ticked me off was the bad rolls against a NR Skywalker/Solo team; between Jaina's Parry, Leia LtSaber Throws, a Corran's Reach 2, and my couldn't roll for beans .... ah well. I Did win the last game at least .....

Seductress- Depends on which non-humans. I don't think she'd be very appealing to a Wookiee but maybe a Duro.

ConSav- Sounds about right! ThumpUp

That's too bad about the tourney, you had a really good squad put together.

I'm sure that the Corran did massive damage and generally conducted himself honorably. BigGrin

I eventually ran a Rebel squad

Vaders Apprentice Redeemed
Shaak Ti, JM
Obi Unleashed
Yodobah
K3PO
Uggie

First game against the Skywalkers/Solo's/Corran I was holding my own, nailed Leia a few times (but didn't kill her) and killed his Uggie with a Push 5, but couldn't get a clear shot for another. They ganged up on VAR and killed him, Obi isolated and couldn't touch anybody with out hitting Shaak and I discovered Shaak is useless other than as a stick; and I rolled so bad she didn't hit anything! .... and one by one, they went down .... the other player admitted he'd never rolled that well and never seen anyone roll as bad as I did .... I told him to watch .... "I do it all the Time."

Second game was against the Leviathon, Exar, and some Rakghouls .... the Raks died quickly and I learned enough from the 1st game to use K3 better, and nailed the Leviathon for 3 straight shots of Push 5 but the big mother killed VAR eventually, Exar was just annoying enough (and Shaak couldn't hit him at all), the big guy killed Obi .... and then it was soon over ....

.... and having learned lessons from those 2 games, I drew a poor guy who came to the tourny with an army of Talz! He had like 18 activations but nothing meaner than a Talz Chieftain .... I learned enough that Yodobah kept feeding VAR Push 5's, Obi got a few Repulse shots off, Shaak finally hit things (and killed a Talz with each swing) and the only piece I lost was my Uggie who got caught in an Obi Repulse shot .... hey I'll take what I can get .... had to leave to go to did at the oldest sons dinner so no 4th game ....

Lessons learned ....

1) Shaak is useless unless you want to go toe to toe with lightsabers ....
2) VAR is great if you can keep him alive and feed him force points ..... but he's a Big Target.
3) Yodobah is great as a Force battery, but useless otherwise; he used Force Defense and Stun once each.
4) Obi Unleashed can hit hard but if he's too close to allies, he's muted; if he's too far away he can't support ....
5) I don't like going against Leviathons without a missle/grenade swarm .....
6) Exar isn't dangerous unless he's on a roll .... but one/two hits from him Can mess you up .....
7) Rakghouls are easy to kill and doing it quickly is best so they don't become a nuisance .....

.... all things considered, I'd rather be a teacher than a student learning lessons .......... Mellow

Worst rolls...? You ain't seen nothin'! BigGrin

A few years back, a friend of mine was facing a new player. The new player really liked Battle droids, so her squad consisted almost entirely of 4 point battle droids and Rocket battle droids with one or two supers tossed in. My friend had pulled out the onloy minis he had on him, a competitive Mando squad with Scouts and Captains, etc. (This was just after CW had come out). This squad was very, very good, and the friend was an excellent player.

Long story short, the battle droids won.
Something like 32 criticals over the course of the game for the new player and my friend rolled a total of 29 1s!
LOL

On the lessons...

1) Well, she can take on any melee beat, not just lightsabers. She's also good against fodder. But, yeah, you're right.

2) Agree with this 100%

3) I do get a fair bit of mileage out of his Stuns, but not always.

4) Don't have him, so I can't judge his performance.
5) I don't like going against Leviathans at all! Scared
6) You got that right.
7) I really hope this isn't true Tongue ...I recently picked up my first Rakghouls, a set of 4, and I've got 6 more and the aboslute perfect map for them incoming from a deal.

Been changing a few things on some cards ....

Dorsk and Krysia are now at +9, Voss Smuggler is now Evade instead of Evade 2, and I believe I'll add this to Tol

Conditional Savagery This character gains Savage (This character must end its move next to an enemy if it can and does not benefit from commander effects.) as long as an enemy force user is within 6 spaces.

I'll get around to changing the actual cards later this week ......

Peace

From page 17...

Zombie Harlot- To quote Gob; "He's...sure got a type, dosen't he? *gulp* "
I've Been Drinking, What's Your Excuse? is a great name and ability! ThumpUp
Well armed bystanders, awesome! LOL Feels a bit like Arizona...
Navigators helping Pilots is a cool idea! Maybe a movement bonus?
That Chiss Rogue is a bit overpowered. Not on his own, although he's close, but with CEs he's too strong.
Maybe 7 or 8 points for the Chistori Warrior? I agree, he seems a bit underpowered.
Love Entechment Operator, nice work! ThumbsUp
The Entech Rig is nice also!
I like your take on the Jal Shey, nicely done! ThumpUp
I think the Naboo Royal Handmaiden needs an extra 10 HP, even if it means a price bump to 7.
Oodoc is fairly undercosted, otherwise I like it! Seems like a nasty fellow!
Rahm Kota is great! One of my favorite of your customs so far! I also really like the elegance of his CE! ThumbsUp One nitpick, though: Kota really, really needs an attack boost at his point cost. He also may be a little bit overcosted but that's debatable.
I also really like your Rakatan High Preistess, my two issues with it are these:
-I don't like Force Choke becuase it obseletises (Word? Probably not, but obselete needs a good verb BigGrin ) two Force powers: Force Grip 1 and Force Blast.
-Personal Shield is WAY too powerful.

Talz Sith might be a little bit overcosted.
Techno Union Commando is cool! He needs a Def boost though. Compare him to the Clone Trooper with Repeating Blaster, who has Quad attack. (Which is about equal to Triple Attack and Sync Fire on a low cost mini, imo). However, the Clone has access to WAY more boosts, particularly defensive ones. Def boosts, swaps, GMA, etc.
Zahara is cool! ThumpUp
Bail is great as well but I think he should cost 40 or even 45. What you get is worth way more than 4 points. And that dosen't even take into account the huge bonus granted by the adaptability of the Reinforcements.
Wow! I LOVE Mon Mothma! Great, great piece, perfect for her and well executed! If this thread had a ratings systems she'd get like a 20/10! ThumbsUp ThumpUp
Raymus is really nice as well!
"Unfriendly fuzzball." Classic. Great piece as well.

Good batch, I'm glad to see the love for Uniques!

@Corran - Lots to digest, and thanks for the comments. Glad to hear you liked a bunch of the pieces. I'm still coming down from the Super Bowl party here; the kids & grand kids were very cranked up. I'll have a few comments/responses to your ideas by the lunch tomorrow, unless something weird happens at school ....

Speaking of which, with one eye on the game (well really an eye and a half, I discovered a bunch of new pics so I'm already coming up with new ideas so maybe I'll start working on them soon ....

Peace

Hmmm, as I said, lots to digest .....

Chiss Rogue - Revisiting him, maybe taking out Careful Shot and dropping him to 9 pts, or just changing Careful to +2?

I can live with the Chistori Warrior at 8pts

I can also see the Oodoc going to 15pts

Kota - Rationale about his defensive (slight) liabilities; I figure the last battle between him and Palp took a Lot out of him and he wasn't the man he was ... that and he's getting old .....

Rakatan High Priest - obsolescence doesn't bother me (lots of that as the game progressed eg. powercreep.) but I could see the Shield; maybe 20 instead of 30?

Talz - Well, if some pieces are undercosted, some others have to be slightly Overcosted! Seriously, I think again that the stat numbers are expensive (19 D and +12 Attack) not to mention Duelist and Renewal ..... I usually go with what the mini price calulator tells me, give or take .....

Techno Union - The Seps never seemed to be worried about D as far as I've seen .... and of Course the Clones have more boost in them ....

Bail - I could see 39 if it was just the Reenforcements and Diplomat, but as I revisit him maybe the CE kicks it up; split the difference and call him at 42 maybe?

Raymus, Mothma, Kota, and Bail - I remember at the time that the Rebel's needed a serious boost, and these characters either didn't exist (Raymus,) weren't really worth their price (Bail & Mon Mothma) or needed an upgrade to reflect a different point in their life (Kota.)

Ewok - I just couldn't see All of the lil twits being nice, hence the "Unfriendly fuzzball!)

Again, thanks for the comments and BlooMilk for the compliments when I didn't miss!

Chis Rogue- Honestly it's not the Careful Shot +4 that's the issue so much as Evade/Parry/Twin. I'd look at dropping Evade. He can stil get it pretty easily if you want it in a particular squad.

Kota- Still, though, like you say even as an old guy he should be pretty dangerous. I really think he needs an Attack boost to at least +12 to be good for his cost. Defensive stuff dosen't matter as much for him, he can get Evade and Mobile (for force Push 2) from Rieekan.

Rakatan- 20 sounds reasonable, if still very good.

Talz- Agreed, but I'd still bump his HP up to 100. He'll die too fast as is.

Techno Union- True, but to be a commando you'd have to be able to survive a battle.

Bail- Sounds good!

Rebs- I'd say Mothma is worth her price but she's Republic. Aside from that I'm with you there.

No problem!
