For everyone who participated in the NZ Vassal Tournament, this is going to be a lot like that. Our tournament starts Monday September 15th. I will announce Round 1 pairings, and participants in the tournament will have 1 week to get their games in. You can also change your squad from round to round.

This tournament does not follow the 3-2-1 format. It's classic 3-2 format, we are however using 10pt gambit. There is no entrance fee for the tournament. We will have a 100 DOLLAR CASH PRIZE to the winner. Deposited directly into the winner's Pay Pal account. Pegolego is also putting up a certificate to his Mini's Store for the tourny.

If you have Skype, it makes games go faster, and that only works better for you. Skype is not a requirement. If you don't have it, it's highly recommended!

Players can sign up any time between now and Friday, September 12th at 11:59pm.

Now that we got that out of the way, a few rules for the tournament!

(We have created our own 60 piece set called LEGENDS which will be legal at the tournament. I will be posting the entire set on Bloomilk's Custom Creator. I will also post a link to the design forum, so everyone will have access to the Faction Stat Block Collection.)

1. The only legal Vset pieces that are legal are the ones that were voted on by our playgroup to be a part of VSET All-Stars. I will post a link to the list, in this thread.

2. The following Wizards pieces are banned from the tournament: Mas Amedda, Ozzel, Dodonna, San Hill, Grand Moff Tarkin, Gha Nachkt, Moff Morlish Veed.

3. The following abilities have been abolished: Overwhelming Power, Overwhelming Force, Brutal Strike, Suppressive Fire, Ysalamiri (If you are running a piece with one of the following abilities, that's fine. For example you can run Lord Vader, he just doesn't have Overwhelming.)

4. All commander effects (even the ones that are rangeless, like on Luke Skywalker, Galactic Hero) have a range of 6.

5. A Non Melee Character, with the Lightsaber Special Ability (Like Mara Jade, Jedi) is considered to be making Melee attacks when declaring attacks against an adjacent character.

6. Small character's do not provide cover, and Character's CAN move through opponents Mouse Droids.

7. Soresu Mastery has been changed back to the way WoTC errata version. (Soresu Style Mastery only affects non-melee attacks)

I would recommend writing that one out explicitly. With the version on the card, in the glossary, and the errata, I think SSM has had just about every possible definition at one point or another.
