There's a lot of vitriol in this thread...is seems some of you are a bit worked up from having discussed the thing that should no longer be discussed to death.

Haha, well, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that a large majority of the users on these forums are new to this game, or have only been playing for a year or so. Some of us that have been playing 2-3+ years have heard these arguments MANY times already. The arguments have never made any difference to WOTC, and they are always the same discussion over and over again. :P

And yes, as Billiv15 put it, WOTC does need to put Vaders, Lukes, Leias, etc., in the sets every now and then. Once or twice a year is plenty, IMO, and that seems to be the path WOTC has been on the past year or two. The addition of the Clone Wars TV show has really provided a neat opportunity for WOTC to split their focus between the PT and OT eras a little more. Putting those key characters from the films and cartoon really help sell the game to brand new players, especially younger ones.

Personally, I'd rather see them sprinkle in the new versions of old characters, and sprinkle in the EU characters, and in the long-run, have the game last a LOT longer. If they churned out 2 or 3 all EU sets all in one year, you'd lose interest from the PT/OT crowd within that year, and they may not come back after that. And if WOTC does go back to PT/OT stuff after all that EU stuff, then the big EU fans would once again feel slighted or get frustrated with the all-PT/OT stuff. So, ultimately, having a good balance of all of it serves to make the most people happy all at once.

Besides, many times, it's necessary to create new versions of characters as re-dos of old ones, simply to keep people from playing both versions at once. Can you imagine squads that would contain both Han Scoundrel and Han Smuggler, or both Boba BH and Boba Merc, if one of them were named something different? Talk about crazy combos. Sometimes, the pieces are released under the same characters to maintain balance within the game.

I think the pieces we can pretty much assume will show up in this set are Cad Bane, Commando Droids, possibly some of the clones from the 'Rookies' episode. I could see this set having Nahdar Vebb as well, and maybe a new Aurra Sing, since she seems to be getting some bigger parts in the upcoming season. There's also a chance that we'll see pieces in this set to go along with some of the new characters coming in season 2 of the show. General Whorm Loathsome could be a good bet too, as well as the Tactical Droids. I think there is a ton of great material available for the CW era, that this should be a solid set.

While I agree with you, I think sets should be more varied. Clone Wars was just Republic and Separatists and Imperial Entaglements was just Rebels and Imperials. I would be much more happy if it were a 75/25 distribution between the overall theme and other eras. Jedi Academy did that, and I hope that Galaxy at war will also.

I would bet there is going to be a new Ashoka soon as well. There was mention in the interviews with Matt and Ashley that her character was going to mature and take on more a role in this season. Plus she was going to take on Anakin's fighting style.

im looking forward to this set because as many clone wars figs that are out there are still plenty not made thow i would love to see at least one eu fig in each set. personaly the sets that just dont spark intrest to me are the OT as much as i love the origanl movies the figs just dont ever spark my intrest all that much

my hopes for this set

cad bane (i see a sep fig with flight and alot like dash and maybe a commander effect for bounty hunters)

tactical droid( thow im afraid it will have some abilty like droids who combine fire grant
+6 instad of +4)

grevious( since hes there i hope for it to not be a commander and just a good sep beat stick)

at least one other sep commander ( like wroth loathsome or poggle the lesser)

re prints of the genosions ( i have 0 of them and wouldnt mind them thow they do suck)

a commander bly

a null arc or omega squad ( thats to much to ask for thow lol )

a dooku thats a commander... (helps living would be awsome)

the captain of there ship in the show ( i cant rember his name)

im also interested in that ventress thow i have no idea what they might do with her

i am inrested to see how they are gonna make Ventress better. they could combine both versions of her, with the deadly attack from the older set, and giving the same CE. id like that

i hope they dont make her better just have her be good and have its own thing going for it so they dont make the other one useless like maybe make this one be a cheaper beat stick in the 30s point wise but not quite as good but still worth her points

I'm pretty sure Cad Bane is confirmed. BigGrin Yeah, and I hope the Grievous in this set has stats kinda like Jedi Hunter, BUT actually has Jedi Hunter... that would be sweet.

These are just a few of my hopes for this set.

Cad Bane
Commando Battle Droid
Senate Commandos
Sora Bulk
Mace Windu
Palpatine/Sidious that can work in Republic, sith, seps, and imperial
501st Troopers that get boosted with any version of Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader

I agree. That and Kit Fisto, is a set to buy! Some CS Jedi Redos would be nice. And I really don't care about another battle droid. Didn't you hear the 'endless waves of Battle droids'? Cad bane is awesome. minis is awesome. Together...

It seems kinda stupid to me that we are getting another Grevious and Asajj. I thought that they both had been perfectly represented. Grevious is an amazing commander who can also slay lesser Jedi in combat, and Asajj can run in and assassinate someone very quickly, but can't take a hit or survive swarms. Why do we have to get more?

My WANTS for the new set:

A beefy Kit Fisto
A true minigun-toting clone trooper
More specialist droids
Some Null ARCs
A Ben Skywalker, thrown in there as the one or two NR/Vong pieces in the set.

Where is Dexter Jettster? He is the most pivotal in character in star wars. Without him, Obi-wan would have never learned of the clone army. Plus, with all of those limbs, he should have sextuple attack!
