Well, I seem to be in between everything; too soon for grades, two weeks early for Memorial Day, almost a month before the Regionals, our customs contest has hit a slight lull while everyone catches up to everything else, so sounds like a good excuse to drop another set on an unsuspecting world. An even dozen I think would be fun …..

Comments from one and all appreciated …..

Advosze Anarchist At the end of the 19th century, anarchists were anti-government types who liked to throw bombs at various people/groups to foment terror; sounds like a Peace Brigade guy to me ….

Black Sun Bodyguard I doubt Mighella was the only Force sensitive figure in Black Sun, and I loved the picture …

Coruscant Riot Police On the one hand, he’s a movement breaker, on the other hand he needs two teammates to do it and he’s easily killed …. Thoughts?

D-09 Corruption Droid I didn’t really find a good description of them in Wook and never played the game so its total extrapolation on my part, but it looks/feels about right.

Elite Mandalorian Scout A better class of Mando fodder, more useful but still fodder ….

Emperor's Shadow Pilot Why do pilots seem so overpowered lately, without their ships they shouldn’t be so badass ….

Jedi Temple Holocron I saw a thread where they were discussing how hard it is to find a character/CE that gives out Force Renewal; then I remembered I’d made this 5 years ago; now updated/simplified.

Mirialan Cutthroat Yes he’s a grunt, but I like grunts; and he can do 40 Damage in just the right situation.

Old Republic Counter Intelligence Officer He can be a pain; should I have made Counter Intelligence “within 6 squares?”

Rebel Ground Commander It was actually hard to make a Reel leader type that gave out something useful without repeating another character and still make it worthwhile (at least I hope he’s worthwhile …)

Super Battle Droid Rocket Trooper I saw the pic and while I don’t remember the character as such, Wook says it existed so here it is …..

Xesh, Rakatan Force Hound I’ve made a dozen or so Rakatan cards and a handful of Jed’aii. I noticed that the V-Setters made this guy up (and made him OR) and since I’d made him a year or two ago (I’d made Trill, Rakatan Force Hound 3 years ago,) but never released Xesh; he kicked he butt so I figured he’d be more powerful. He just doesn’t seem right, along with any Jed’aii, as being truly Old Republic; should be a sub-Faction.

Ok, good, bad, or ugly, they’re mine so blame me if you don’t like’m. I hope you find something worthy in here and I look forward to comments as always.

Cheers,

Surf

awesome stuff!
this is a great booster.
I'm liking Xesh, TOR era gameplay would be fun for this,
and it could make a subfaction, or be fun against rakghoul/blackwing zombie squads

super rocket battledroid, awesome stuff! BigGrin
aerial droideka and srbd's will make for fun recreation scenarios on rhen var

the coruscant security is a nice concept - let them cluster and be naded muahaha
them + superstealthed corsec commandos: nasty
does crowd control defeat force leap and flight?
how does crowd control work with involuntary movement etc?
interesting piece for sure!

emperor's shadow pilot is a nice nuanced figure -
it is potentially an evading, ~80dmg per act (multi-act too)
wheeling shooty thing of death, and might be fun in a Fel+emperor squad. BigGrin
could also see action in fringe/empire too.
nades is just right

blacksun bodyguard is a nice minor big bad or encounter end boss,
it's just survivable enough to present a challenge,
yet not overpowered. its more a loner, which will be great for pincer moving on heroes and whatnot.
can potentially be +40dmg counterpuncher, evading superstealthed
and a great detatchment with genoharadan assassains or guri etc.

a minor concrit -
i need my eyes checked as
i could have sworn I'd seen
a rare typographical error on the elite mandalorian scoutl/scout|'s
front half of the card BigGrin
that would be... what, once in 3 years? a rare thing indeed,
now that's quality BlooMilk
the stats themselves are nice... though mandalorians would have access to a 9pt recon piece,
and would have the most pieces with recon of any faction hehe
forward positioning on a ~11pt piece, would be awesome, as it would allow mandalorians to set up
in lots of different detachments.
mando swap squads would be a thing,
and being able to swap big d fett or snare gun fett for a scout would be fun
'what do red and blue make? purple rain..."

thanks for making
phlupping awesome statcards, surf! BlooMilk

...and anal that I am, with all the nice things (Cool ) that you said, what do I concentrate on, the typo you say is on the Mando, but I Still can't spot it.

But I appreciate the comments anyway Koba ThumpUp

Thanks for the comments; the cards are here for whoever wants them. The card templates are around, they might be at the very front of this thread or at least a link. I use MS Powerpoint and clean up the pics with MS Paint.

I only use the WOTC & V-Set cards for official games, my cards are options when its a "friendly" game.

Comments are always welcome. Again, Thanks for looking; I can only improve when people remind me if I'm it right or they call me an idiot and then tell me why BigGrin

Well, vacation is here and I've been distracted. I'm about to hit six figures in hits on my thread so at the least I needed to release a set to celebrate and I must say I've got a few I'm hoping will be considered Quite interesting, so lets get on with it shall we. Lurkers, I'm looking at You when I say comments good, bad and ugly always welcomed .... BigGrin

Cheers,

Surf

AP-5A Droid He doesn't show up for more than a bit on TV, but he was quite a pain to Chopper, who is a pain to everybody else. I thought he'd be a holy terror to poor C-3PO and I gave him a bit of pain to share.

Bothan Hoth Trooper I saw this guy in Battlefront and I'm thinking "a Bothan on Hoth?" and I basically said, why not?

Chagrian Jedi Consular Liked the pic, and this is what I always imagined what a Jedi Consular should have been like.

Clone Scuba Trooper ... well, its Another example of the apparently endless types of Clone Troopers there were.

Mustafarian Hive Commander Another attempt at making a small sample of otherwise useless pieces possibly playable.

New Republic Bio Warfare Expert With the sudden upsurge in the fortunes of the Vong, I started to reread about Vonduun crabs and found the tidbit about the Bafforr Pollen. Not sure if its a game-changer or the V-Setters ignored it, but it Does create some interesting ideas.

Pantoran Consortium Underboss Borderline overpowered for a non-unique; I made sure that only non-uniques got the Consortium ability and avoided letting any other crime/organization benefit. The CE is a little strong (a Little?) but I hope its interesting and costed also close enough ...

Predor Tsao'kai A bonus Rakatan; Predor's were supposedly pretty tough.

Sith Smuggler Originally a Unique, he's basically the Sith version of the OR Smuggler.

True Mandalorian Believer Someone to go along with Jaster.

Undercity Prankster I liked the slightly evil look in his eye; Dennis the Menace with Malice in his heart.

Yammosk Enhanced Commando While reading up on the Bafforr Pollen, I reread the Yammosk and came up with Receptive Telepath. Modeled on the Imp Storm Commando, sorta. I think he's interesting

Hope you find something you like here. Keep those cards and letters coming in folks ....

"Emperor's Shadow Pilot Why do pilots seem so overpowered lately, without their ships they shouldn’t be so badass …."

Dude, have you watched Top Gun?

Pollen Grenade: I think the planet was destroyed just after they realized its importance.

All your cards look sweet! The abilities seem pretty good. Love Riot Control; take that, Yobuck. (and Lancer too)
Should it work for flyers?

Thanks for looking ... came up with the pollen grenade after losing to the dang Vong in Regionals; rather tired of them BigGrin Still, 4th place is 4th place ... Regarding the cards, I try to create something interesting although sometimes I suspect the lurkers are RPG guys; still I put in a lot of effort into my hobbies so appreciate the comments.

Spent a bit of vacation going wine tasting with my wife; always a good thing making the wife happy. ThumpUp But now that I'm home, I had some new ideas I wanted to try and some of them are complex enough that I'm only releasing a half dozen cards this time. They're definitely different from many of my others, so I hope they get an equally interesting reaction. Good, bad, ugly commentary always welcome. BigGrin

Cheers,

Gossum Banking Clan Advocate An idea robbed, sort of, from the Muun Tactics Broker, except he's sacrificing himself; my biggest problem was what price do I put on his half/priced replacement?

Gran Imperial Tax Collector This pieces' sole purpose to exist is to mess with you opponent and his costs, so basically how much are you willing to spend to mess with him? An idea if nothing else.

Independent Contractor Actionable Intelligence is a play on the idea of Intuition. Independent Agency is my way of calling her a Unique without actually giving her a name so you can't "abuse" the idea/character.

Ithorian Intelligence Agent I actually stole the framework of the idea (and the pic) from Fantasy Flights Ithorian character. The whole idea basically making this person a Forgery expert and hiding him behind diplomacy until he gets into a position to mess with you, which forged documents Should do.

Priest of Yun-Harla I stole an idea, sorta, from donnyrides (the priest part, I came up with the trickster god while rereading Vong Priests on Wook.) Liked the idea of him tricking you into targeting somebody else.

Selkath Free Trader Well, he's a socialist Star Wars character; all for one, one for all and lets spread the wealth (and costs) around.

Hoped you found something interesting Cool

Neat stuff Surf!
from this more recent batch,
2 standouts are looking awesome to playtest;
the selkath free trader,
and the Gossum Banking Clan Advocate.

The selkath works well with the Rodian Trader and KOTOR era theme squads,
along with previous selkath and krath pieces you've made.
The Gossum would be fun to use along with the custom Darth Maul DRK-1 and DRK-3 probe droids,
as you could swap out the 26 point piece for a stronger 13pt DRK3,
and effectively 'bank' 13 victory points from being won.
you also get to put the CE of your choice on a droid, so that could be fun too.

as an aside, I enjoy seeing
Limited Personnel, Independent Agency/Small Outfit/Owner-Operator/Sole Proprietor, and Scarce Materiel,
it helps to keep costs down, and prevent Mousie-era doppelganger swarm squads,
while also being something that other pieces could override with a CE.
By dodging unique, it also robs bounty hunters of a bonus against em.
it also keeps uniques/named heroes "heroic".

The Independent Operator would be so tempting as a spotter for a super-stealth squad.
she could move to flank the diplomat characters,
and spot enemies as they close to adj.
My understanding is, there are rounds per 1 - 2 characters activated: can she move up to ~12 times per turn (upto 72 squares per turn, once each round an enemy moves)
with the wording on actionable intel... would tempo control auto-defeat this ability?
because only 1 character is activated per round, the condition for her Actionable Intel never triggers... BigGrin
she will be an auto-include piece if that interpretation is close to how she's supposed to function,
especially for large swarm squads or 500pt and bigger mega-matches.
she's not broken though - because she has low damage output potential and is fragile.
She could be a speedy nom-bomb candidate though...

thanks for sharing, Surf!
these are awesome - keep them coming BigGrin

Priest of Yun-Harla, at 16 pts, is far, far better than the Praetorite Vong Priest at 18 pts.
He is also better than Eminence Harrar at 24 pts.
Perhaps a cost change to 22-26 and requiring a sacrifice (like Harrar does) might help balance. (however, any Peace Brigade member would love to play this guy, or several of them against you Drool ) How about no scarification? That way you still need a scar guy in the squad?

Ithorian Intelligence Agent could you add "or deals damage" to the end of "Falsified Paperwork"? If not, several of these guys, with an Ithorian Commander, can hit you and then shout "DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY!" Throw in a Weequay Leader and some mice - 30 dam standing still.

Gran Imperial Tax Collector - I like the Reserves/Reinforcement penalty. Not sure how Rapport suppression works.

@ Koby: Actionable Intel does not specify an enemy character. It should still work before the second activation, even if it is your own.

The Priest came out costing what it is according to my costing program; I never really looked at comparing him to other priests (not trying to create anything to obsolete something else.) Wouldn't removing scarification actually make him cheaper? I like the idea of "deals damage" on the Ithorian because I can see someone doing that and keeping Falsifying Orders to last second as an option.

On the Gran "Suppression" what I meant is any Rapport abilities that reduce costs of characters is suppressed.

@Koba

Haven't seen you in awhile and you never commented on the AP-5 droid so I thought you were on vacation Cool

Glad you liked some of them. Regarding my Indy Contractor - what Juice said ...BigGrin

The Gossum is quite an interesting idea isn't it?

Does that mean your opponent needs to re-build his squad right then, or that when you kill the piece it uses the printed value for its cost?
If it's the first ThumbDown
If it's the second ThumpUp

Even removing Scarification leaves him with plenty of goodies. Giving Yun-Harla Devotion to warriors free of charge is really good. Leaving him with Scarification would make him an auto-include. No scar makes you look at what type of squad you want to build and if he fits. He might cost a little less without scar, maybe.

@surf,
I may or may not have been to the granite belt,
the intense cold has had an effect there on the beer trees and vineyards BigGrin
they had about 4 inches of 'snow'
which was really just icey slurry,
and it was all over the news hehe.
further south, they had proper snow.

I digress,
turning to this batch -
the Gossum could be a lot of fun in non-droid CIS squads,
the loss margin on victory points is between 30-50points,
so the Gossum 'saving' some victory points that are banked - they can't get used -
it will encourage new CIS builds that aren't droid-swarm or lancer-related.

I do like the idea of the private spy/information collation freelancing officer BigGrin
it gives a lot of teeth to super-stealth squads,
though it can be a glass cannon - we're not talking 6+ attacks at 40dmg each, and she can't dishout autodamage
(unless she's a nom-bomb, but she's expensive to be a nom-bomb)
I could see a 200 nom-bomb with her and a few reserves used as the nom-bombs...
but they're going to struggle to have enough points for hobsons choice counters to autodamage and tempo control...
besides, who really uses as many melee or forceusers in competitive these days?
so, she's not breaking Vong squads,
despite some locals having that approach.
playtesting, she's fun with leia or mara jade as the beginnings of a super-stealth counterpunch squad,
or with Delta and Omega squads as an alternative to Atin etc...
even, in TOR faction, she can be fun with nomi sunrider and crew.

PS:
turning to 'AP-5"
I think we might see that turn up in a paratus mirror droid squad,
as the beginnings of a "multifaction droid squad".
with chopper, proxy, ap 5 and C3PX etc,
it'd be a fun squad dynamic.
you can also get sith droids, basilisk war droid (via reserves)
X1 viper, loader droids,
all kinds of droid.
it might not be as competitive as some other mirror-squad builds,
though it's a fun idea that's getting a lot more options.

i think it could be a
republic, rebel, imperial, sith, CIS, mandalorian?, new republic, old republic squad,
which is pretty neat. it can also use Zann consortium DDs, so, take that, CIS!
it's "I can't believe its not CIS"
do vong have any droids in the 20pt range?

" ... do vong have any droids in the 20pt range? ... "

So, since Vong are anti-droid, does that mean they would attack their own fringe droids? Now There's an interesting question for the Rules forum. Scared

Love your creativity on your customs Adam! You have a flair for identifying needs for the game, which is a breath of fresh air. There's so many that I like, but hard to pinpoint the one's I like best. Do you have a master list of all the custom's that you have created? That would be cool. I really like the "New Republic Bio Warfare Expert", and the "Independent Contractor". On one of the newer characters, the Force ability "Force Control", is pretty awesome! Impressive, most impressive ideas my friend. With all your knowledge, background, and years of being connected to SWM, you should seriously consider vollunteering to be a designer for upcoming new sets! Keep em coming buddy!

Mel, in all the years I've known you and been doing this, Now you finally peek into this thread? BigGrin

Thank you just the same! I must admit, if you start at the beginning, my early cards are a little "rough" and I've gotten better. One of my many side projects is cleaning up or even updating some of my early stuff.

Frankly I don't have a Master List. I suppose some day I should create one. Maybe this summer in between getting run into the ground by the grand kids

Although not my thing, I occasionally make friends a card.

Koba was interested in this so I thought I'd whip one up for him.

I was actually on the fence for this about whether he should be 24-26, went with costing it at 25.
