You know me too well - BigGrin its all good.
There's a lot of awesome here

Abednedo Informant and Devaronian 'Freedom Fighter'
are awesome - I'm enjoying the flavor text as much as the encapsulation of the characters.
Affinity on the Devaronian is the icing on a cake.
It will probably see use in the devaronian trooper/Alto Stratus contingent -
living seps are awesome, and Muun/Skakoan/Quarren just gets to be boring

The Gotal NR ranger is also fun -
I may have to make one using an Antarian Ranger and head-swap with the Gotal.

A great booster all around -
thanks Surf! BigGrin

And here I thought Leia and the Ongree Revanite would be thought of as the two most interesting; shows how much I know about what people want.

I actually like the Gotal with the name "Ranger." Wish I'd thought of that. I look forward to him being made by you. On a side note, I hadn't touched a card in 4-5 weeks, yet this set has given me get an itch. I may do another set in a week or two; I reorganized my cards and moved the best up into the best three 11 card sets.

Glad you liked some of them. ThumpUp

Sweet work on the Jedi Master Plo Koon variant card! BlooMilk

I like Force Fog 3; It's almost like Force Maelstrom meets Force Illusion - very nice ability.
It won't deter enemies with sniper - so you've managed to make sniper a meaningful ability again! BigGrin
though, it could make for some more Super-Dooper Stealth Republic squads
Shien Style Mastery seems functionally similar to the variant of Soresu Style Mastery from back in the day - nice.
it all came together nicely on that variant.

Plo Koon is one of my favorite characters - and finally we have an epic version to match!
thanks Surf!

I just discovered this thread and I have to say, I really like a lot of the cards you have here. I'm a huge fan of non-uniques and you make some pretty awesome ones.

If you read the stat Contest thread, you know I'm more a non-unique guy than anything. Someone recently said "This is a MASSIVE project" but really, I've been making cards since 08' and while I don't make them as often, I'll admit I seem to have gotten better, at least visually, over time.

Whether or not they're actually any good I leave to the critics to decide. I'm a one man operation so I'm not silly enough to compare myself to the V-Sets; they're a group effort and playtest the heck out of them. I just do what peeks my interest.

I love comments and That motivates me. Thank you for looking.

@Koba I didn't invent Fog or Shien, I just read Wook and they fit him; he's supposedly in the High Council and probably in the Top 10 Jedi Masters at that time so why not; The WOTC versions were rather weak I thought.

Did I mention I'm on vacation, had a hand operation and sitting around and bored? Cool

So, I've been surfing and peeking at more threads than normal, saw some requests to the V-Setters and since I had these sitting around ...

Jedi Master Ima-Gun Di

I had him sitting on the back burner and since the CorComedian wanted it, my take ....

Another request .....

Jedi Master Kao Cen Darach

A couple of weeks ago, I was watching the OR game clip where Kao was fighting of Malgus so Satele could escape. Must say he put up quite the fight and he hurt Malgus pretty good; tough guy like that deserved a card ....

Enjoy the bonus.

Cheers,

Surf

WHOO! Those are awesome!

Gotta say, I love your devotion to card space. Abilities seem to be so much more space-efficient on Bloo Milk than on real cards. You keep card space in mind, so your pieces are always really awesome without having a boatload of abilities. They're a lot easier to read than my customs would be on real cards Flapper. Kao Cen Darach is a little crowded, but he's the exception, not the rule.

As chairman of the Ima-Gun-Di and Kao Cen Darach fan clubs, I thoroughly approve. ThumpUp

Years ago, when I helped create the New Lost Twenty cards, card space was one of the big arguments and what could Really fit. Yes Cao is the upper limit and I rarely go there (I went there with Plo by the way.)

I thought you'd like these.

As I've already confessed, I'm bored. Been on vacation for a week and while I'm not stuck in a bed, I had an operation that required me to behave and stay mostly home; Idle hands .... BigGrin

I recently watched the Last SW Rebels episode and it made me think. I'd love to do more Force Awakens characters but we know so little and I've already done Finn, Rey, Kylo and a Guavian (my extrapolations) that I thought I'd try some Rebels. I've done some guest characters before (Fulcrum, Ketsu Onyo) and the V-Setters have done the major characters so who left?

A small set, but I hope it's interesting. Comments always welcome ...

Captain Rex, GAR, Retired Possibly the most tricky of the batch; an older Rex, not what he onve was but still a pretty tough old guy. I felt like Combat Veteran is close, but I feel I may change it down the road; still, until I think of something better, its interesting enough .....

Commander Jun Sato I'm assuming Sato gets killed somewhere before "A New Hope" but he's useful for my Rebel Fleet Creman card and he does hlp the Ghost Crew out a tad.

Fifth Brother An interesting Inquisitor. Not as subtle as the Seventh Sister, more direct. Still, this is what I came up with. I imagine he's more of the "Intimidate the Little guy" type but get whomped by a Real Jedi Master or a very well trained, veteran Jedi Knight.

Seventh Sister A much more subtle character than her Brothers, she seems like the type to be more zealous about converting Jedi to her side but still willing to fight if necessary. I thought about giving her ID9 Seeker Droid's but decided to save card space and not ...

Just a quickie. I go back to work tomorrow and the daily grind. Maybe I'll finish my next set by May ... or not.

Cheers,

Surf

A neat sub-set, thanks for sharing Surf.
'Boredom' seems to inspire you to make awesome customs.

The Inquisitors are good mid-level mop-up pieces,
they'll take out a lot of scrubs, though they need to team up
to threaten high-cost uniques.

I will have to try those inquisitors vs a Vader-Apprentice Unleashed - Proxy squad etc,

Rex is a nice piece also;
can Rex be in a Kota's Militia squad? or, does Rex not have O66, and therefore can be in a Kota squad?
I'm thinking Kota, Pavan, Olin and old Ben + troopers and Rex would be fun.

Will you be making another Rebels themed Ashoka?

Any chance of newish vehicles based on Rebels or the Rogue One trailer?

thanks for sharing Surf! BigGrin

That Rex is spectacular. The mobility is great. And he's 26 points. Tracking him down isn't super important, but with that mobility it seems impossible to do (in a good way). He's more of a Ghost than the crew themselves LOL.

Nice Inquisitors - very nice representations, but low-ish cost. Acrobatic + Agile is a nice combo on the 7th Sister, Lightsaber Throw 2 + Twin is great. Overwhelming on the 5th Brother is nice too.

great job on the subset! I'd love it if we get guys like these in a upcoming V-set. Jun Sato's CE is pretty strong for Ghost Crew, but maybe its what they need to compete. With survival expert from Hera they'd need 7's on AD which is really strong on Kanan and Ezra in particular, but also really good on everyone else. But i suppose with the Vset designers being ok with the Yun Ne'Shel priest giving out AD and +4 to saves all for the cost of 13pts (you could fit 3 of these guys in a squad and it still would cost less than Hera + Jun Sato), then I think giving this lesser effect probably would be fine. the Rebels Ghost Crew can already get AD from the likes of Dr.Evazan, albeit only when they are adjacent.

Is Kota Legend or Canon?? I made Rex according to the TV show, but feel he should have another trick up his sleeve. I made an Ashoka "Fulcrum" and that's where I'm stopping for now anyway. Glad you like the Inquisator's They should be just bullies but not good enough to take on "a fully trained Jedi."

No vehicles but some droids on the horizon .....

Rex was actually difficult; make him "Rex" but a diminished Rex. The Inquisators wrote themselves with what Wook said about them and you shouldn't try to squeeze everything into a mid-level piece ...

I wanted to fit the two Inquisators into a set with Rex and another Rebel. I've already done a Fulcrum and Sato seemed a good fit. I wanted him to help his crew (another piece I did earlier) and Avoid Defeat seemed a good fit with the Ghosts since they seem to Just Get-away ..... and the cost is what my generator says; I figured 13-15 and I decided to "aggressively cost" him since at that low D he wouldn't last long anyway.

Thanks for Looking!

So, I’ve been so busy with contests and these guys have been sitting around. I’ve just learned that my local Regional is coming up and I need to figure out what the Heck I’m going to do (By some miracle I came in 4th last year) and I think I better let this one loose before I run out of time.

My usual mixture of good, bad, and ugly. Hopefully, something pops up that is worthy. Comments as always welcomed BigGrin

In alpha order because, why not?

Galactic Marine Shock Trooper WOTC made a Marine, I made a Marine Commander last year so why not a Shock Trooper to go along with it? Speed 4 or Heavy Weapon? Hmmm, Thinking ….

General Organa, Leader of the Resistance Now, this girl took a lot of thought; do I go with a more Jedi-oriented lady, or stick to a version that’s just older, more worn down yet still stubborn as hell? The next movie will probably have more to say on the subject, but until then …..

Resolute Negotiator was tougher to put together than you think ….

Hutt Security Droid Here’s a fun little guy; I’m sure Koba will be quite happy ThumpUp

Kashyyyk Berserker This is me weighing in on an Anti-Vong, pissed off Wookie. Brownie points if you can correctly interpret the Wookie’s Scream.

Kel Dor Constable The law abiding Kel Dor’s would of course become cops ….

Mandalorian Assault Trooper Since it wasn’t a requirement to be human to be Mando, the pic struck me as useful and this “job title” seemed to fit.

Morgukai Caste Warrior So, first off, apologies to Naarkon; in the contest to create a living Sep fighter a few weeks ago, he created a nice Morgukai Warrior and it reminded me that I had created one 3-4 years ago. I peeked at mine and decided it wasn’t quite what I would have liked with more EU history under my belt so I updated it. This is my newer version (and No I’m not trying to one up anyone, this is just me being anal and striving for what I feel I can do when presented with a “substandard" older version like my original one was.)

Peace Brigade Provocateur Gotta thank the V-Set guys for the Outsider ability. It creates more room for newer Vong pieces without it being a Vong. An interesting idea I hope you find interesting as well.

Pureblood Sith Envoy Arrogant is the first thought I had when I saw this guy, and I ran with it. My cost generator made him 13 but I upped to 15 because of Disruptive.

Purge Trooper Commander There’s a V-Set Purge Trooper, so why not a Commander?

Savan, Underlord of Black Sun I thought about replacing Cunning with a more Savan-ish new ability but honestly nothing came to mind; everything I gave her was what Wook said she had and it’s all “old” abilities; that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

That’s it for now. Comments welcome. Maybe I can squeeze in another group before Regionals but no promises. Hope you enjoy them.

Cheers,

Surf

this is a nice batch
some sort of ion-shielded melee orientated hutt-esque droid? BigGrin
ThumbsUp
a v2,0 Morgukai team leader,
a Kashykk wookie that can be in a republic squad thanks to ol MeruMeru and Chewbacca,
which will replace other wookie options such as the CS wookie commando,
(and which appears to be based on FFG wookie art, awesome stuff as their wookie minis look cool too)
a galactic marine,

if this was a booster pack, I'd be happy with this haul.

The only concrit I have ,
is the TFAnuwarstrek7 themed Leia...
how on earth, honestly, could she ever have speed 8? Laugh
or evade - rolling around?
this is not the leia who's somewhat the jedi badass, this is more a sneaky leia
specialised in guerilla warfare.
on the upside, 2 CE effects are nice - boardwide evade to followers, and rebels additionally get +3/+3,
this is quite the powerful leia

thanks for sharing,
and may the force be with you for the regionals.

With Speed 8, I wanted her to be showing her worry about the New Order and her desire to find Luke asap. Also, Speed 8 is conditional; don't target her until you can corner her and she won't get it BigGrin

The CE was more of the "Resolute" idea in that they won't be fooled by the New Order laying low and Evade of course to prepare the troops not to be fooled and be ready (Evade being the idea that we won't be caught napping.)

@surf -
true, it's your custom your way,
and it is an awesome variant of leia,
I just don't think, as awesome as Ms Fisher is, she would be up for speed 8 as we saw her portrayed in SWnuwarstrekVII.
unless, She's more 'Lady Vader" than we realize, and she's part bionic woman? Laugh
don't target her you say... direct damage is the key to beating her and stopping her from becoming the flash-ette?
Laugh
Comparing this incarnation of Leia to the leia from Bounty Hunters is intriguing;
you get a little more here for a lot more cost, so this variant of Leia is probably a little overcosted,
yet well costed IMHO for what she brings to the table relative to her survivability.

I like the CE, it reflects "general" status,
though it'd be cool to see it on some of the other leadership characters we see in that "they're going to fire the superdooper deathstar at us in 10 mins" war room sequence hehe.

Also, the image you found or made for her - it is very flattering and a good likeness to Ms Fisher.
Does that source also make other sketches? I'd be interested to see other starwars-ish art from them BigGrin

Have you made a Fem-BobaFett: capn' Phasmid?
Rumor has it she'll be cameoing in the Boba Fett movie, or as Samus Aran in a Metroid movie hehe
some sort of ability for flanking or pinning a row of enemies that she has LoS to would be a great ability for a First Order faction outright;
it would deter CIS faction squads with Charging Assault (thats what a lot of builds are at the moment locally)

continuing with the 20q's
Will you be making customs inspired by 'rogue one'? that rogue force-user will make for an interesting possibly fringe piece.

@Koba

Sorry, I've been busy with family, work and that contest that keeps distracting me; but I've actually gotten about two dozen cards done, incuding some fascinating ideas I needed to try out ...

Regarding the TFA movie characters, I've done a handful, and have started about a dozen or so others, but frankly most (like Poe, Hux, Phasma, etc.) have so little known about them that I can't even guess at much.

Regarding Leia's "Speed 8" its a thought towards a Knights/Masters Speed Jedi move. Other Than Force Sense, she's never really demonstrated, in the "New" Canon, more, so I thought she's subconsciously run faster when presented with danger ....

The Leia pic is a random one (I do have another character, but that's for another time ...)

I started a Rogue One character, but we know even less, so until I know something more solid ....

New set maybe in a week ......
